Craft and doodle to grow symmetries and play with numbers!
1, 2, 3, 10! Come skip a few numbers with PLIX this month and doodle beautiful symmetries that expand to ♾️. This December, grow your confidence and courage in mathematics to play with base number systems, an aspect of number theory. If your brain blocked out the second half of that last sentence… join to craft and doodle with us. OR…if you’re a math-enthusiast, invite your math-shy and math-enthusiastic colleagues for a creative STEAM break.
Getting ready
Please join us with…
- ☕ Your favorite December beverage (sweet, savory, coffee-y, or chocolatey!)
- 🖍️ Your favorite paper and markers for doodling
- Optionally: your favorite craft supplies, including but not limited to:
- 🪱 Chenille stems / pipe cleaners
- 🧶 Yarn and crochet hook
- 🦢Origami paper
- 👀 Play-dough (if it’s not yet banned from your library)
- ⭐ Stamps and ink pad
- 🤪 Lots of the same stickers
- 📿 Beads and string for friendship bracelets
- ‼️ And more (counting is very inclusive!)
