Turn casual dinner-table play into a shared coding opportunity!
Family Game Night with OctoStudio turns casual dinner-table play into opportunities for shared coding exploration. OctoStudio is a completely free creative coding app developed by the same makers of Scratch, the Lifelong Kindergarten Group. The games weβll share are fun for mixed age groups, quick to play, and require only one device with OctoStudio and simple household materials. Each game is designed to inspire families to remix the game itself and make it their own.
Join PLIX this month to learn more about the project and try out one of the games! Special guest TΓ©o Xisto will share game files and support materials so you can run your own Family Game Nights with OctoStudio.
ππΌΒ No prior coding experience is needed.
Getting ready
Please join us withβ¦
- β Your favorite November beverage (sweet, savory, coffee-y, or chocolatey!)
- π A sheet of paper and something to write with
- Optional: a phone or tablet with OctoStudio pre-installed.
- Only one person per breakout room will need to have OctoStudio on a device. They will also need a way to share their device screen in their breakout room (a cable is often the easiest way).
π Note: Our PLIX workshops are not recorded, to foster open connections and cozy hearts.
