PLIX TeamWho we’re looking for
For this project, we are looking for library professionals who work in a rural and/or tribal library context and are involved in the design or facilitation of STEM / creative learning programs. We hope to better understand particular challenges of offering PLIX activities in your communities and how we might design our activities to address these challenges in future.

The commitment
We expect that we will be spending about 10 hours: a few hours together launching phase 2 of the project and learning about a PLIX activity you choose— Beautiful Symmetry, Inflatables, Spatial Poetry, Space Food or Paper Circuits, and the rest implementing that PLIX activity with your patrons, documenting, and reflecting on that experience. We may also do some video interviews with a few participants.
The program is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 and wrap up on Wednesday, March 16th.
Benefits to you and your library
We know that all of you are incredibly busy and appreciate the time any participating library professionals would invest. We will be offering all participants a $200 honorarium and will provide materials and supplies for the PLIX activities you implement (approximate value of $150).
Application and selection process
Application deadline: Friday, December 10th, 2021.
We will try to bring together a group of co-designers that is diverse in the patrons they serve, where their libraries are located, and how much prior experience they have with PLIX activities. Newbies and longtime friends, and all those in-between are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to those working in libraries in remote communities and/or who serve mostly low-income patrons.
