Join the PLIX team for the Next Library•Media Lab Camp!
In this two-hour interactive & highly-collaborative workshop, we will mull over the question:
How do we connect the values of the public library to new, online formats for engaging with patrons and communities?
Think of it like a longer PLIX Community Call, with a focus on the online space and with participation from Next Library leaders!
The Details 🔍
- When is it? The workshop is Tuesday, June 1st 12-2pm ET. We'll be meeting on Zoom! 💻
- Who is this workshop for? Public library professionals interested in the future of libraries as we open back up again. Whether or not you've been to a PLIX workshop before: we welcome you! 🤝
- What can I expect? Be ready for a playful, interactive environment for us to discuss our favorite institution, the public library! We'll have large group discussions, guests from the Next Library team, and some surprises. 🎉
- What's Next Library? Based out of the Aarhus Public Libraries in Denmark, Next Library is "an international gathering of forward-thinking library professionals, innovators and decision-makers who are pushing boundaries and making changes that support learning in the 22nd century.” This year the conference is virtual and will take place on June 3. As a warmup there will be local satellites—or camps—happening in Oslo, Brisbane, Aarhus, and with PLIX here in Cambridge. You can head to www.nextlibrary.net to learn more. 🌐
